| New Part- Time BBibl Undergraduate Progamme | New Masters Programme 2008 | |
|
In response to an increasing number of requests from library staff wishing to build their professional careers, the Department of Library & Information Science is delighted to announce a new part-time undergraduate programme. It will begin with the first year courses in 2008; second year courses will follow in 2009; and, so on. The classes will take place in the Department, Monday to Thursday between 5.30 and 8.00 pm. (However, please note that if the actual enrolments early in 2008 drop below 10, we will not be able to proceed.) For more information contact the part-time programme coordinator, Dr Gavin Davis, at gdavis@uwc.ac.za or 021-959-2137. |
In 2007 our postgraduate programme underwent a major shift as we introduced the structured Masters degree, MBibl (Information Studies). The envisaged student will be a LIS professional wishing to compete in today's flexible and dynamic information environment. The programme focus is on information and knowledge management and on competencies that cut across boundaries - such as project management, records & archives management, indexing and thesaurus building. |
