Welcome to Club 99

It started as a social club nearly 50 years ago and today Club 99 thrives as the popular annual dance that raises funds for disadvantaged students.

 Club 99

While the name has seemingly obscure origins, it is, significantly, named after the room number in the campus hostel where the club first met in 1967.

Club 99 started as a social club with a few alumni who met up regularly and decided to take their loyalty to UWC further than merely reminiscing about the good times they had as students. Instead, they decided to honour their alma mater by giving back to the communities they came from.

Since 2005, regular fundraising events have contributed towards an alumni bursary fund for disadvantaged students who would otherwise not have the opportunity to further their studies.

After the big 2005 fundraiser in the form of an alumni reunion dance, they simply went from strength to strength.

The Club 99 dance has since become an annual event that has funded more than 50 students to date.
