Biography

 Dr Bright Mahembe holds a PhD in Industrial Psychology from Stellenbosch University. He is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Industrial Psychology at the University of the Western Cape. Bright teaches at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His research focus is on leadership, learning potential; cultural intelligence, traffic psychology and psychological measurement issues. Bright enjoys performing statistical analyses using SPSS as well as confirmatory factor analysis (CFA); multi-group analysis; measurement equivalence, measurement invariance, factorial validity and several other analyses using LISREL. His research articles mainly appear in the South African Journal of Industrial Psychology, the South African Journal of Human Resources Management (SAJHRM) and the South African Journal of Psychology (SAJP). He also serves as a peer reviewer for SA Journal of Human Resources Management, South African Journal of Industrial Psychology and The South African Journal of Psychology. He has read a number of papers at both the Society for Industrial & Organisational Psychology South Africa (SIOPSA) and international conferences (such as the International Association of Cross Cultural Psychology; International Conference on Psychology; European Congress of Psychology, the World Conference on Personality and the Irish Academy of Management). Bright is a member of the International Association of Cross Cultural Psychology and the World Conference on Personality.
Bright has worked as a Lecturer at University of Zimbabwe; Graduate Support Lecturer (Stellenbosch University) and as a Lecturer at University of the Witwatersrand before joining University of the Western Cape in August 2014
