 Lisa Draga has been an associate lecturer in the Department of Public Law and Jurisprudence at the University of the Western Cape since February 2018.  She teaches Constitutional Law and South African Bill of Rights. She is a graduate of the University of the Western Cape (UWC), having obtained her LLB from UWC Summa Cum Laude in 2006.  She is also the first recipient of UWC's Ivan Rugema Scholarship and was awarded a LLM from the University of Columbia, Missouri, USA in 2007.  She is an admitted attorney of the High Court and completed her articles at the Legal Resources Centre, South Africa's largest public interest, human rights law clinic.  From July 2010 to December 2011 she worked as a legal researcher for Justice Zakeria Yacoob at the Constitutional Court of South Africa.  She also worked as a human rights lawyer for six years at the Equal Education Law Centre, a legal NGO specialising in education policy, legal advocacy, community lawyering and public interest litigation.  She has been involved in high profile education related cases in the High Courts and in the Constitutional Court of South Africa.
