 Matthew Kofi Ocran was born in Ghana, he obtained his PhD from Stellenbosch University and holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Ghana. He has also had a stint at the International Monetary Fund, Washington D.C., as a Visiting Scholar. Matthew is a Professor of economics and Deputy Dean responsible for academic planning and assessment at the Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences, University of the Western Cape.
