Postgraduate Programmes

The Department of Linguistics offers the following post-graduate courses:
Honours in Linguistics / Applied Linguistics
Masters in Linguistics
Masters in Applied Linguistics / Language Education
Doctorate in Linguistics or Applied Linguistics


Entrance requirements
For entrance into the Honours programmes, candidates require a Bachelors degree (65% pass mark) with either Linguistics or a Language as a major.

For entrance into the Masters programmes, candidates require a relevant Honours degree (65% pass mark), or equivalent post graduate qualification such as B.Ed.

For entrance into the Doctoral programme, candidates require a relevant Masters degree.

Prospective students should apply to Arts Faculty Office. A copy of your application to the Chairperson, Dept of Linguistics is advised
