BA Honours (Psychology)

BA Honours Psychology

Duration for full-time students: 1 year 

Duration for part-time students: 2 years 

Admission requirements:

 A Bachelor’s degree approved by the Senate of the university 

 A minimum of 65% in the final Psychology 3 examination


Students are required to select six modules from the level 4 psychology (Honours) modules.

A module offered at Honours level in another department may be substituted for one on of the Psychology (Honours) modules. Click on the titles below to download the application documents.

Funding Opportunities

The National Research Foundation (NRF) awards bursaries to students pursuing full-time, Honours and final year B Tech studies at South African public universities.These bursaries are only awarded to South African citizens and South African permanent residents, and are awarded as Block Grants to South African public universities. Eligible applications will be recommended for funding through the Block Grant.

MA Research Psychology

Applications for 2019 are open until 31 October 2018 @ 12h00

 One year of course work and one year of internship in a research setting.  A mini-thesis has to be completed to

 fulfill the requirements of the degree.

 This structured degree leads to registration with the Professional Board for Psychology as a research  psychologist.
