The Department of Psychology embarks on an annual outreach programme in the Cederberg region. Among the key role players of the outreach project is the Rural Transformation Company (RTC); a non-government organization who operates in the Cederberg region. Areas covered by the collective of students and staff involved in the outreach include; Elands Bay, Citrusdal, Clanwilliam, Graafwater and Lamberts Bay.

The purpose of the outreach is to inspire, empower and enrich the community, especially the youth of the Cederberg region, concerning career related issues, goal orientation, and life skills for personal development.

Honours students, particularly those doing the Community Psychology (PSY708) elective, work hand in hand with staff to ensure a successful programme annually.

The outreach, typically known as the Community Psychology Outreach serves as an excellent opportunity for students and staff to engage with community members and leaders. Since the programme's inception into the Department in 2007, it has grown to include exchange students from countries such as Norway and Germany.

This year's outreach promises to be yet another life altering journey of personal development for staff and students alike.
