The University of the Western Cape’s (UWC) FNB Varsity Shield side look to continue their winning streak when they face the Tshwane University of Technology on home soil at the UWC Sports stadium on Monday 3 February 2014 at 7pm.

UWC crushed the University of Fort Hare (UFH) 26-8 with an exceptional display of dominance during their first game of the Varsity Shield campaign.

As described by the UWC skipper, Freddie Muller, UWC boasts a much stronger team than last year and aims to raise the bar in Varsity Shield cup this year. “I am confident in the squad, and I believe we have what it takes to reach the top,” Muller said.

UWC top the log with 4 points based on point difference, followed by the Central University of Technology (CUT), also with 4 points. The University of Kwa-Zulu Natal is in third place with one point. In fourth place is Tshwane University of Technology, and in last place is the University of Fort Hare with 0 points.
