What does DRAMS do?

  • Advise units on the best practices for managing records when the records are still in the units

  • Manage records that have been transferred to the Central Records Office; and,

  • Build, maintain and provide access to UWC archival collection.

  • Preserve records for historical research

  • develop and maintain effective systems for managing UWC’s documents, records and archives in accordance with best practice and standards

  • providing guidance on how UWC units can create official records

  • advising  UWC units on how to organize and  maintain official  records in their custody according to approved file plans

  • determining  how long the records can be kept in the units

  • determining which records can be disposed of at unit level

  • determining which records must be transferred to the Central Records Office for further storage
