UWC acknowledges that its employee base may be partly or wholly bound by recognition agreements that guide the employee relations between the employee, the union and Management. Employees are encouraged to attend union meetings and to participate in discussions regarding issues that affect them.

It is the idea that relationships with recognized unions are based on good faith and the common well-being of the University

For the recognised union, UWC makes use of regular consultative meetings where issues are discussed in a mature manner and amicable solutions are found in the best interest of all at the institution and in support of UWC’s strategy vision.

Engagement:

The university actively encourages the aspiration that employees should understand, identify with and commit themselves to the objectives of the institution by understanding their roles as leaders, each in their own circle of influence, and the responsibility that goes with this. Adult learning and interaction principles are part of the UWC culture.
