Pace Career Centre is South Africa’s longest standing career guidance company. Over the past 20 years PACE has made a significant impact on the career guidance infras​tructure of the country. Over 1,000,000 youth annually have access to free career guidance as a result of the PACE initiatives. 

PACE has a well researched and developed range of products from primary school level right through to corporate career development programmes. 

PACE Career Centre is the founding member of the South African Career Development Association (SACDA) which co-ordinates career guidance and development activities throughout the region.

Pace Services at UWC:

The Univerisity has partnered with the Pace Career Centre and now offers a valuable career guidance service to prospective students in helping them choose a programme of study.

Before application to the University is made please visit the and follow the instructions for the Course Chooser below. The Course Chooser will ask you for your school subjects and marks. It will then scan all the courses at UWC and tell you which ones your qualify to apply for.

Learners are encouraged to apply on-line to speed up the application process.

How to complete the application form

The application form has various sections that have to be completed such as , name, personal information, planned programmes of study, school details, financial details etc.

After completing a section, click the submit button of the page to save that section’s information. Now move to the next section and repeat the procedure until you have completed all the sections of the form.

  • Collect all the information you may need and keep it at hand while you complete the form.. This should enable you to complete the form in one sitting.

  • Please read the information carefully before you answer each question

  • Provide all the information required in each section

  • Before you submit the application, ensure that your responses are correct and that you have filled in all the required information on the form.

  • After submitting the application, you will receive an application number. You must use this number in all enquiries or correspondence with the university.

  • The system will automatically refer you back to the particular item/section that you must correct or complete if you have made an error or omitted  information.

  • Do not forget to indicate your first and second choice of degree programme. You will be considered for your second choice programme if you are not selected for your first choice programme.

  • Any mis-representation of information on the ap​plication form and/or the submission of false documentation in support of your application will be considered in a very serious light. It cold lead to refusal of admission or immediate expulsion from the university.

  • By submitting your application you are indicating that the statements contained within it are true and accurate to the best of your knowledge.


    Application Fees

               Your application fee of R100.00 is payable by 30 September 2015, and thereafter late application fee will be R150.00. 

               Application fee may be paid using the following methods:

 Hardcopy applications

The requirements for an application to be sufficiently completed for consideration vary by programme but in general, applications will be considered once the following documentation is received:

 A certified copy of your identification document

  • A certified copy of your matric certificate in the case of applicants already matriculated before 2008 or a certified copy of your National Senior Certificate if you matriculate as from 2008

  • Official academic transcripts and a certificate of conduct if you are transferring from another university or applying for credits obtained from another institution of higher education

  • The application fee or proof of electronic payment through a bank (copy of your receipt) must accompany the application form

  • Letters of reference for those programmes where it is required

  • Certificates and transcripts that are in another language other than English or Afrikaans must be submitted together with an English translation thereof that has been certified by a Public Notary (not a Commissioner of Oaths)

  • Any other documentation which may be required for admission to a specific programme
