Part-time studies at UWC

Please note that a limited number of programmes and courses are offered ‘after hours’.  Part-time classes are normally offered after 16h30 during the week, or throughout the weekend and require careful planning.  The reality for students, administrators and academics is that time is limited and there are competing responsibilities of family, work, study and community.  The specific needs of adult learners who have to juggle multiple responsibilities require a different approach to administering, teaching and learning.
When choosing a course you must first establish that the course will be offered after hours.

The University is divided into seven faculties or general fields of academic study and research.

Within these faculties, the departments, schools, institutions and units focus the study area further. UWC offers a variety of qualifications including certificates, diplomas and degrees. Full-time certificates and diplomas are usually offered over a one or two year period. Full-time degrees are offered over a three or four year period. Students attending the after-hours classes usually take longer to complete their programmes.

On this website courses are listed in alphabetical order and by Faculty Unit or Department. From the variety of course options listed here there could be one or more courses that interest you. For details follow the links with the Faculty and Department websites or contact the persons mentioned in the list of faculty and department contacts.
