Do I qualify as a student with a disability?

Disabilities vary to what are considered visible disabilities such as an individual who is confined to a wheelchair, to invisible disabilities such as someone with a learning impairment like dyslexia.  If your condition is all of the following, you may be considered a person with a disability:

  • Have a physical or mental impairment
  • Impairment is long term or recurring
  • impairment is substantially limiting

In order to register with our Office, you will be required to submit the necessary documentation from a medical professional who has assessed that you may require accommodations or assistance in respect to your academics. This includes a medical confirmation letter or psychological assessment from a professional who has tested and/identified your condition. We also require your letter of acceptance to UWC or proof of registration, a copy of your I.D., student card and a copy of your senior certificate (1st year students only).
