The Directorate of Teaching and Learning is a unit in the office of the DVC-Academic tasked with developing and implementing the University's Strategic Plan on Teaching and Learning. The implementation process involves working with Deputy Deans for Teaching and Learning and Teaching and Learning Specialists to develop, guide and evaluate processes of curriculum development and renewal across all seven faculties. This encompasses pedagogical development and support, materials development, infusion of emerging technologies into teaching and learning, assessment and evaluation practices, and the development and infusion of graduate attributes into curricula.
The Directorate's vision is to create sustainable and vibrant communities of practice and research within and across faculties that are committed to excellence in both teaching and research. Our mission is to guide academic staff in their work both as teachers and as scholars of teaching and learning, and to make UWC a leader in teaching and learning practice and scholarship.
