The Cape Higher Education Consortium (CHEC) runs short courses each year for those interested in learning new knowledge and skills, or deepening the knowledge and skills they already have. Courses cover the following areas: assessment and evaluation; using emerging technologies in teaching and learning, inclusive education, and service learning. New courses are added periodically, and facilitators and participants are drawn from all four universities in the Western Cape. Attending these courses is an excellent opportunity to learn new knowledge and skills, to meet and share your own knowledge and experiences with colleagues from different universities, and to develop your own capacity as an educator.
There are four CHEC short courses running in 2014, and the PDF brochure with further information can be downloaded here, as well as the application form. UWC staff interested in attending any of the courses should email their completed form to Staff Development (details on the form).
