About the EM Education Trust

The Energy Mobility Education Trust develops future-ready leaders to power South Africa’s green and digital economies. Over the past decade, we have invested R238 million to support more than 4,200 young people, ensuring access to higher education, skills development, and opportunities that break cycles of poverty and create new possibilities.

To equip talented young Black South Africans with education, skills, and holistic support to thrive in fields critical to the just energy transition.

About the Scholarship

Our programme offers comprehensive support:

• Tuition, accommodation, meals, stipend
• Laptop, textbooks, and learning resources
• Mentorship and psychosocial support

Who Can Apply?

• Final-year undergraduates & postgraduates (Honours, Masters, PhD)
• Studying at WITS, UJ, UP, NWU, University of Limpopo, or UWC
• 32 years or younger
• Household income ≤ R600,000 p.a.
• Black South Africans as defined by the B-BBEE Act
