The Old Mutual Education Trust (OMET) is inviting all candidates meeting the eligibilty criteria to apply for the 2027 bursary opportunity. The Trust offers funding for undergraduate higher education qualifications at any public South African university to the staff, members and dependants of the 10 participating unions.Critical qualifiying criteria:
Candidates must be either a union member, staff member of a union, spouse of a union member or child dependant of a union member that is part of the Trust.Scholarship offers/benefits:
- Partial scholarship of R77,000 per academic year
- A dedicated Student Support programme to ensure students’ success and well-being
- Access to tutoring support
- Access to counselling services
- Provision of a laptop when joining
- A World of Work programme to prepare for life post-graduation (vacation work & internship programme)

NB: OMET does not fund 2nd degrees, 1 - year courses, short courses & postgraduate studies
