Urgent: Lecturers advised to delete expired Turnitin (Tii) classes: Impact on creating new accounts

Exceeding the Turnitin Quota

Turnitin is currently being used by UWC lectures/instructors to identify the use of sourced text within student submissions. Turnitin has seen an increasing amount of usage during the COVID-19 lockdown period.

NB: Due to increasing usage, UWC has exceeded its Turnitin Quota (active profiles).

Exceeding the Turnitin Quota (Active Profiles)

The increase in the active profiles will have an impact on the teaching and learning agenda, especially with regards to adding new profiles within the system.

·         No new accounts for students (undergraduate and postgraduate) can be created

·        Lecturers are unable to set up and add students to assessments or PeerReview

·        Tii administrators will not be able to create new accounts for instructors.

NB: We request that all expired and classes not in use (3 years and older) are deleted from your Tii account. If you require assistance, the CIECT (ICT) team will engage with you in a one-on-one consultation (via Google Hangouts).

NB: Student submissions will not be lost when you delete the expired classes.
