As CADFP Host and Diaspora Fellow alumni, we wanted to give you a few updates:
ARUA now includes the University of Mauritius as a member, so faculty at the University of Mauritius are invited to submit CADFP projects in this cycle.
We will host an Alumni Webinar to discuss the fellowship, Peer Review, and other ways that we can engage our CADFP Alumni

As CADFP Host and Diaspora Fellow alumni, we wanted to give you a few updates:
Alumni Fellowships
Alumni Diaspora Fellows are eligible to apply for the Alumni Fellowship which allows you to build on your original CADFP collaboration. In addition, program alumni can work with institutions that are different from their original host institution. There is a lifetime maximum of two (2) fellowships for Diaspora Fellows. There is no lifetime maximum for Host Fellows or host institutions.Virtual Alumni Fellowships
Virtual Fellowships are offered to program Alumni returning to their previous host university for a second visit. Though collaborating with a previous host university is mandatory, Diaspora Fellows can work with a new Host Fellow.Peer Reviewers
Alumni of the CADFP are the program’s great resource and we value your continued contributions for the program’s success. One way we would ask you to contribute is to serve as a Peer Reviewer. If you will not be pursuing a project this cycle, please consider volunteering to serve on a Peer Review panel.Eligibility
Diaspora Scholar eligibility remains the same as in previous cycles, except for the lifetime limit of 2 fellowships. Accredited colleges and universities in Ghana, South Africa, Uganda, Tanzania, Nigeria and Kenya are eligible to apply, in addition to universities that are members of the African Research Universities Alliance (ARUA).ARUA now includes the University of Mauritius as a member, so faculty at the University of Mauritius are invited to submit CADFP projects in this cycle.
Timeline
The deadline for project requests from host applicants and scholar applications for diaspora scholars is 30 September 2022 at 11:59pm EDT. Selection decisions will be made in November 2022; project visits can begin as early as 1 January 2023 and must be completed by 30 November 2023.We will host an Alumni Webinar to discuss the fellowship, Peer Review, and other ways that we can engage our CADFP Alumni
