Call for Applications

The Department of Information Systems at the University of the Western Cape is one of the largest Information Systems Department in South Africa and focuses on developing highly qualified professionals in Information Systems.

The department wishes to call for application for suitable candidates for the Postgraduate Diploma in IT Infrastructure and Application Management (ITIAM) programme.

The Post Graduate Diploma in ITIAM (NQF Level 8 qualification) is designed to provide training for individuals who have had no or limited exposure to IT career. The programme is a conversion course that provides fast-track opportunity into IT profession. 

Commencing in March, 2014, the course focuses on IT Management modules required in IT Industry such as Principles of IT in business, Information Technology Infrastructure Management, Application Management, Information Technology Service Management, Information Technology Governance and Risk Management, Business Specific Systems and Applications and Information Technology Project.

At the conclusion of this programme, students would have the required workplace experience and theoretical understanding of a broad aspect of the IT field.

Prerequisites: A bachelor’s degree in any field with a coursework average of 60%. Acceptance of the candidate to this course is based on satisfactory entrance examination. Limited funding available for South African Students. 

Duration: The programme covers approximately 15-17 weeks of full time in- class training at Information Systems Department, University of the Western Cape.
