APPLICANTS ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Post doctoral applicants are required to have:
- Completed a PhD in the past 5 years in a field of study linked to one of the research niche areas as advertised in the last five years and may not have held a prior permanent academic post. For applicants who did not obtain their qualification in South Africa, a valid SAQA certificate should be in hand at the time of application. International students should have a study visa as a requirement for registration at UWC as postdoc fellow.
- Knowledge of, and experience with the use of theories and tools for interventions and practice in the health promotion field, in particular intervention mapping, tree of life and related interventions, diffusion of innovations, and empowerment theories
- Experience and expertise in qualitative primary research
- Experience and expertise in quantitative research (including using SPSS)
- Experience of having worked within the study areas
- A strong academic record with evidence of peer-reviewed publications
- Evidence of expertise in writing grant applications, grant management and managing health promotion projects including ability to liaise with a range of stakeholders
- Identified a supervisor/mentor within a department at the Faculty of Dentistry
- Explain how the project will be funded.
