Congratulations to UWC Alumna, Professor Esther Munalula Nkandu, on her appointment as the Zambian Ambassador to Belgium. Professor Nkandu is a role model to students who have aspirations of entering the foreign corps, and testament that UWC Alumni are highly capable individuals, demonstrating that perseverance is a key determinant of success.

Professor Nkandu obtained her BSc Honours in Physiotherapy and her Master of Science in Physiotherapy from the Faculty of Community Health Sciences at UWC.

Zambian President, Edgar Changwa Lungu, said in a statement: “Your professional accomplishments, vast experience in health and corporate governance at both national and international levels give me confidence that you will effectively represent the government of the Republic of Zambia as an ambassador in Belgium”.

Professor Nkandu is currently the Dean of the School of Health Sciences at the University of Zambia. The UWC Alumni Office heralds Professor Nkandu’s appointment and wishes her everything of the best when she represents her country (and Alma Mater).
