EMS Faculty applauds the wonderful achievements of our ITC 2022 Accounting cohort
The EMS Faculty is really pleased about the wonderful achievement of our accounting students who wrote part 1 of the Initial Test of Competence (ITC).

We obtained an overall pass rate of 91% of all students who participated in the ITC. In the case of students writing the ITC for the first time, we achieved a 100% pass rate.

I extend a huge congratulations to our students. I know that it was not easy. I am sure that our students' success emanated from much sacrifice, not only from the students, but also from their significant others - their parents, guardians, grandparents and family members. And let's not forget our hardworking and committed staff from the Department of Accounting, both academic staff and professional and administrative support staff.

I wish our students all the best as they continue on this journey to obtain the CA(SA) qualification.

From Bonita Raymond (senior lecturer in the Department of Accounting and current departmental chairperson):
"As the Department of Accounting we are extremely proud of the achievement of our ITC 2022 cohort, which only resumed full-time, face-to-face learning in April of 2022. This engagement had a positive impact on learning and teaching alike. It is the first time ever that our candidates who wrote the ITC assessment for the first time obtained a 100% pass rate in the first of two exam sittings in January (the second sitting being in June). An impressive 91% overall was achieved by students who wrote the ITC.

"As an HDI university and one that faces resource-related challenges, this achievement is a testament to the dedication and commitment of relevant staff, and well as that of the students. We are very proud of all of them and would like to congratulate them and let them know that they are flying the UWC flag high. I would also like to thank the office of the Dean for their support and contribution to this success."
