We are looking for post-graduate students, registered for an LLM, LLD or PhD degree in the Faculty of Law, to engage in some tutoring/teaching and administrative responsibilities within the Faculty.

The successful applicants will be required to be present at the Graduate Tutor offices for 20 hours per week, spread over 4 days. Successful candidates will be expected to conduct tutorials, attend course lectures and be available for student consultation.

The tutoring areas include the following: Introduction to Law, Basic Skills for Law, Law of Persons, Family Law, Law of Succession, Constitutional Law, Law of Delict, Law of Property, Law of Contract, Law of Insolvency, Company Law, Commercial Transactions Law, Statutory Interpretation, Jurisprudence, Research Methodology, Preparing for Legal Practice and Corporate Law.

• Must not be tutoring elsewhere on campus in 2027

Applicants who will be in their second year of post-graduate study in 2027 or third year in the event of LLD candidates must provide a report from their supervisor indicating progress made with the research component of their post-graduate degree. (i.e. date when the proposal was accepted at the Law Faculty Higher Degrees committee, chapters commented on by Supervisor and time frame to completion); OR
6. Current LLB students in the final year of study or students who intend on registering for the first time for a post graduate degree in 2027 must attach proof of registration for a post-graduate degree within the Faculty; alternatively, a letter from the Faculty indicating that you have applied for final acceptance to the post-graduate programme.
