Dear colleagues,

The University of the Western Cape (UWC) is built on the dedication and contributions of its people. Today, we pay particular tribute to our Professional, Administrative and Support Staff (PASS), whose work helps keep our University moving forward.

We are pleased to share a video introducing the PASS Recognition and Awards, which introduce a formal, consistent way to recognise individuals and teams whose contributions make a difference across the University.

A note to line managers

Once a nomination is submitted, line managers will receive a verification email from Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate with the subject line "PASS Staff Awards: Line Manager Verification Required". A nomination cannot move forward until this step is complete, so please review and action the email as soon as possible.

If you lead a team, please share this message with your staff and set aside time to discuss the framework with them, so that everyone understands its purpose and knows how to take part.
