KHOMBISA German Stopover @ UWC
Dear Campus Community
With the endorsement of Prof Pamela Dube, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Student Development & Support, the KhombiSA will stop over at the University of the Western Cape, on Thursday, 2nd November 2017.
The Khombi is a refurbished 1971 Volkswagen Transporter that is used by the German Embassy to showcase German culture, language and lifestyle - and to support various projects in South Africa. Kirsten Bittiger and Steffen Scholz from the Embassy in Pretoria will inform you about the bus - and entertain you with games and give-aways.
Come and take your selfie with the Khombi and take part in a lucky draw to win a free German language course. At lunchtime, typical German food will be sold in support of UWC's Ikamva Lethu Fund. Besides the Khombi itself, two information desks will be put up where German companies, political foundations, the German Academic Exchange Service DAAD, UWC’s German Language Department (Faculty of Arts) and other UWC departments that cooperate with German partners will share information about their activities, scholarship opportunities and career prospects for students. Jenny Carina Doll, Founder of the coaching agency Getittogether.co.za will offer short career coaching sessions with students. Bookings are essential.
An L-couch inside the bus can be used for individual consultation with the respective presenters. For further questions and to book your consultation, kindly contact Stefan Buchholz on email: Buchholz.DAAD@gmail.com
