Love jazz? Looking for home-baked bread, fresh produce and fun? Then why not check out this weekend’s Smooth Jazz In the Valley festival - and help UWC alumna Merle Deitrich support a vibrant rural community?
The brand new Smooth Jazz In The Valley / Smooth Jazz Innie Vallei festival is launching this weekend (16 and 17 December 2016)...and if you love good local music, fresh local produce and food, and making a difference in a warm and friendly community, this is what you’ve been waiting for.
Cape Town bands are The Pedestrians, Belhar Music Collective, opera singer James Bhemgee; Abe Landsberg from Somerset West; and the Mamela Music School from Athlone. The locals are The Goedverwacht Jazz Band, Public Attention and Point of View from Vredenburg and Simply Smooth from Riversdal.
Help support UWC alumna Merle Dietrich, who is already heading a successful Snoek-en Patatfees in Goedverwacht and helping this missionary community succeed financially.
Whether you're coming to camp for the weekend or just want to see the live jazz concerts, enjoy the home-made bread and jams or buy the bargain produce, there’s something for everybody.
Tickets are available at Computicket R30 and R80. A weekend pass is R120. There are evening dance parties at R40 and a camping site for the weekend costs R300.
