The Presidency of the Republic of South Africa will convene a National Dialogue on Coalition Governments to be hosted at the University of the Western Cape (UWC) on 4 and 5 August 2023.
Student and youth input are a crucial part of the dialogue and discourse. The University, in partnership with the Presidency, is therefore inviting UWC students to write an essay of no more than 800 words titled: “What I would do if I were leading a coalition government, to build strong and resilient democratic institutions?”
All entries will be considered but the winning entry will be published in a major mainstream media outlet.
The essay needs to answer the following questions:
