New position available at the University of the South Pacific
The University of the South Pacific is currently advertising a new position for a lecturer in Applied Linguistics. This is a full-time position at Laucala Campus (Suva, Fiji), renewable every 3 years by mutual agreement. We are looking for someone who can primarily teach and supervise within applied linguistics and TESOL-related fields, but who can also handle introductory linguistics courses. We have spent a lot of time rejuvenating and developing our teaching programmes over the last year, and are looking for some new blood to help us carry this exciting work forward. We are also looking for someone with a promising publication record, who will continue to build and strengthen our research capacity. Individuals are free to focus their research on any area of linguistics or applied linguistics, although strong preference will be given to those who intend to research issues of relevance to the South Pacific region. Applicants are required to have a PhD by the time they take up the post.
Deadline: 19 March 2017
Start date: The position is currently vacant, so it would be ideal to have someone in place by the start of Semester 2 (July 2017) or to join us midway through the semester. However, we will extend the start date to January 2018 if necessary.
