As we approach the second semester registration process at the University of the Western Cape, we want to ensure a smooth process in respect to pre-registration clearances and the update of your visa applications.
We are fully aware that there is a huge backlog at the Department of Home Affairs in respect of the issuing of new study visas and renewed study visas and have received the following Directive dated 27/06/2022 from the Department of Home Affairs, "CIRCULAR: TEMPORARY MEASURES IN RESPECT OF FOREIGN NATIONALS IN LIGHT OF A BACKLOG EXPERIENCED IN PROCESSING OUTCOMES ON WAIVER APPLICATIONS AND VISA APPLICATIONS", click button for details.

Please note that these temporary measures will apply only to foreign nationals who have been legally admitted into South Africa. Any further extension, modification, or amendments to the terms of these concessions will be communicated in writing.
