It gives me great pleasure to announce the extension of the term of Professor Jacques de Ville as the Dean of the Faculty of Law.
Prof De Ville’s second five-year tenure as Dean will commence on 1 August 2023, to 31 July 2028.
During his current tenure, Prof De Ville has ably led the Faculty. Most recently, the Faculty of Law was listed for the second time in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings (2022) by Subject (announced in November 2021).
The UWC Law Faculty appears with the law faculties of UKZN, NWU, UNISA and US in the 201+ band and is recognised as one of the top 10 law faculties in South Africa.
I wish Prof de Ville all the best for the journey ahead and have faith that his leadership will continue to steer the Faculty to even greater heights.
