It gives us great pleasure to announce that The Broken String is on Cape Town TV!
The Broken String is a documentary that offers a sombre reflection of past and current injustices endured by the Bushman people in South Africa.
In this film, researcher Dr Lorato Mokwena conversates with !Aru |’Khuisi Piet Berendse and Hans Springbok about the multi-layered oppression endured by the Bushman during Apartheid. Oom Hans’ sorrowful declaration that the Bushman will never get a taste of democratic South Africa’s milk and honey suggests a continued marginalisation of the Bushman.
The film was produced by Lorato Mokwena with funding support from the National Research Foundation (NRF), South Africa.
