Professor Vivienne Lawack is the DVC: Academic at the University of the Western Cape. Not known by many, she is from a small town, Clarkson, in the Eastern Cape. Clarkson is a Moravian missionary station and has a very interesting history. Clarkson, over the years, produced excellent scholars and societal leaders.
Since not many people know about Clarkson, Professor Lawack, with friends and family, published “STEMME VAN CLARKSON” (Voices of Clarkson) in 2021. With the help of ZoneLearning@UWC and the UWC Media and Communications Office in 2022, “STEMME VAN CLARKSON,” the documentary film was born.
This documentary captures many of the voices of people in the small Eastern Cape town of Clarkson. In this documentary film, the authors of the book share what it means to grow up in a Moravian missionary.
