The Faculty of Community and Health Sciences at the University of the Western Cape (UWC) will be hosting a Community Outreach in Bellville on Tuesday the 28th of September 2021 and then on Wednesday the 29th of September 2021 will be in Fisantekraal (Durbanville) .This Outreach is hosted in collaboration with the Western Cape Department of Health (WCDOH).
This initiative is born out of the need for vaccine education, registration, and access in communities in and around Cape Town. The WCDOH mobile vaccination bus will be supported by vaccinators, students, and staff from the UWC community. We will essentially be bringing this vaccine roll-out campaign right into the community where most of our public transport users pass through.
The Outreach will take place in front of the UWC Bellville Medical Campus (BMC) in Blanckenberg Road which is situated near the Bellville taxi rank. This is a busy area for public transport users and shoppers who we aim to provide this service to on the day. We also welcome residents from the nearby areas. In Fisantekraal, it will be based at Fisantekraal Community Centre.
