This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for students to learn about space science and technology with a focus on space weather - a relatively new and exciting field involving the study of the Sun and its influence on Earth.
Understanding space weather has become vital due to its impact on space and ground based technological systems. The International Space Weather Camp (ISWC) will be hosted virtually from 7 - 25 June 2021.
South African students will do their practical activities in August at the South African National Space Agency (SANSA), Hermanus, South Africa. South African participants (who attended the virtual sessions), will attend the second leg of the camp in August (dates TBC). Participants will be fully funded (including flights, accommodation, meals, and data) to participate
in the practical activities and interesting excursions taking place at SANSA in Hermanus.
Applicants must be final year BSc/BEng/Honours students in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science or Electronics and must be South African citizens or permanent residents.
