Do you enjoy listening to some smooth jazz? Do you like attending church and getting your head in the right space? Do you wish there was some way you could do both at the same time? Well, UWC's Centre for the Performing Arts (CPA) and St. George's Cathedral may have just the thing for you – Jazz Vespers.
On the last Sunday of every month, the Cathedral hosts an ensemble from the UWC CPA to add some spirited music to the evening prayer service (Vespers), to the great delight of parishioners and the general public. This initiative, formed between the Cathedral and the CPA, showcases the CPA’s talented musicians at a platform in the CBD.
The UWC Brass Quintet, Jazz Combo, Saxophone Ensemble and Wind Orchestra have already performed (read about the May performance here), and the UWC Chamber Choir is scheduled to entertain the crowds on 27 July.
RSVP: Everyone is welcome – and it's free of charge. So, just grab a friend or five and come along, and get your week started in the best way possible.
