National Science Week Art Competition 2026

Attention all aspiring artists across Africa, are you ready to embark on an exciting journey? 

Join us in celebrating the beautiful intersection of art and science in an inspiring competition that invites you to explore the unique role of science in building a climate-resilient future.

The competition has three categories which people can enter: 

  • Foundation Phase 
  • Grade 4 - 7 
  • High School 

In your artwork you need to communicate the important role of science for a climate-resilient future. 

The winning artwork will be displayed at the National Science week at UWC. Due date for submission of artwork is 26 June 2026. 

When submitting, provide your full name and surname & Name of the school / institution you are attending and grade with a brief introduction of your artwork –  
max 120 words.

This should describe what your artwork is about. Also indicate your teacher’s name and contact details.

Rules 

  • Artwork should be the original design and creative work of the learner/student. - Artwork should not contain any potentially offensive or inappropriate material for  public display. Such posters will be excluded from the competition.
  • E-posters should not be bigger than 25 mb and in PDF format. 
  • Uploaded artwork must be named “Artwork 2026_Fullname” (“Fullname and  surname” is the artist’s name). 
  • The adjudication is final and no further communication thereafter will be allowed.
