UWC’s Nursing School Celebrates Extraordinary Research Output
For years, UWC’s School of Nursing has been committed to the service of mankind through scientifically sound, sensitive practices. Part of that has been turning students into competent Nursing practitioners with an emphasis on problem-solving and critical thinking. And another part has been performing primary research to advance the cause of health care in South Africa and beyond.
During the last two years the School of Nursing UWC had the highest publication output among all nursing departments in South African universities. In 2014 alone, the School successfully published nearly 70 peer reviewed articles in accredited journals! At the same time, the School hosted the South African Journal of Higher Education’s (SAJHE)first special edition in Nursing and a special supplement for the African Journal for Physical, Health Education, Recreation and Dance (AJPHERD). And all 91 Nursing staff showed a dedication to building knowledge in the field.
To celebrate these achievements, Prof Karien Jooste, Chair of the School of Nursing, invites you to join Prof J Waghid, editor of SAJHE, and Prof L Amusa, editor of AJPHERD, for a talk and a light dinner on Wednesday, 25 February 2015.
