UWC Opens Its Doors
The University of the Western Cape (UWC) invites all Grade 11 and 12 learners to the annual Open Day which will be held at the UWC campus in Bellville, on 11 May 2013.
The Open Day is an opportunity for parents to bring their kids, who will soon be eligible for university studies to UWC where they will learn about UWC and its unique history and vision.
Organised by the Student Enrolment Management Unit (SEMU) of UWC, the Open Day programme will provide wide-ranging information about courses and extracurricular activities, and opportunities the University has to offer for those who aspire to enrol for tertiary education at UWC.
Among the things, learners and parents will visit exhibitions presented by the seven faculties and their respective departments, and they will also be to enjoy a general information session and a full scale tour of the campus.
Furthermore, information relating to admission requirements, online applications, bursaries and loans, selection processes and residence options will also be available for parents and learners. Academics will explain the programmes to learners, and the Rector, Professor Brian O’Connell will provide a presentation on why learners should choose to join UWC, while senior students will share their UWC stories with the prospective students.
Fun and games are also scheduled to be part of the programme with sport codes and other extra mural activities to be highlighted.
