Puppetry walk, workshops and exhibition at the Boschendal Plum Harvest Festival
We are delighted to invite you to the Boschendal Plum Harvest Festival to join the Centre for Humanities Research artists in residence, the Ukwanda Puppet and Design Collective as well as artists from Net vir Pret in Barrydale, for an outdoor live performance of the short puppet piece ‘Mnumzane’ directed by Ukwanda's Sipho Ngxola and Angelo Endley.

This public ‘walking' performance with the elephant puppet Mnumzane (created by the Handspring Puppet Company) will begin on the main entrance road in Boschendal at 12pm on Sunday, 14 March.

Over the course of the weekend our children's puppet designers, Clarisa Jonas and Herman Witbooi from Barrdyale will be leading a closed group of local children in a recycled puppet making workshop. The children's puppets as well as other beautifully designed life size animal puppets created by Ukwanda will be on display around the farm on Sunday, 14 March.

The CHR's participation in the Boschendal Plum Harvest Festival marks a new phase in the public arts education initiatives of its research platform on Aesthetic Education.

We look forward to seeing you there!
