UWCforLife is a collective that has been meeting informally since 2014, comprised of individuals who no longer work at the university or are retired, and current staff members, yet still feel a sense of belonging. The group met informally since then supported by the university. In 2022, the group decided to give their gatherings a meaningful purpose and to start fundraising efforts to assist UWC students financially.

Currently, the group is working on establishing a connection with the university, enjoying robust support from both the former and current Vice-Chancellors as well as senior management. We have recently had a distinctive emblem designed for our group by the university, created a constitution, and are now awaiting the registration of our chapter at the university.

We are hosting our inaugural Langarm Fundraiser for students on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the Jakes Gerwel Hall, UWC to contribute to student Financial Aid.
