UWC team high in confidence

A confident UWC Football Club, who emerged victorious after their match against Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University last week, will take on the University of Limpopo in a Varsity Football encounter this evening. Kick-off is set for 18h00 tonight.

The home team will aim to use their previous clash at the UWC Sports Stadium to continue their winning streak and to push for a semi-final spot in this prestigious university football competition. UWC has won their last three games - one away against last year’s Varsity Football finalists, the Madibaz, and two USSA games over CPUT and Northlink College.

The wins have boosted the spirit in the UWC camp following a slow start in the Varsity Football tournament, in which they picked up one point in their first three games. With three games remaining, UWC finds itself in fifth place on the log standings with four points, three points below Kosvies.

UWC coach Aboobaker “Boebie” Williams is set to keep the winning team unchanged, provided that all his players are free of injuries and suspensions. The campus community is encouraged to come in numbers and support the boys.
