About the presenter
Gary Spolander is Professor of Social Work at Robert Gordon University in Scotland. Gary qualified as a social worker at the University of Cape Town before working mostly in the UK in a variety of frontline professional and leadership positions in social work and the NHS. Gary also trained in public health while working in the NHS and has also worked for UWC School of Public Health where he taught leadership and management. He has a long professional association with UWC. Gary’s research interests span early years development, international social work, public health, structural inequality and leadership and management.
