2015 Student Development and Support Student Achievement Awards
Student assistants, leaders, tutors and mentors who provided support and assistance to the University of the Western Cape in 2015 were acknowledged and awarded at the annual ceremony of the Student Development and Support (SDS) Student Achievement Awards on 16 October 2015.
The aim of the event is to encourage co-curricular and extra-mural activities among students in order to develop into well-rounded graduates ready for employment.
Categories at the award ceremony ranged from Student Governance Leadership and Social Responsibility, to Student Tutoring and Academic Support, and more (eight in total). The winner of each category received a trophy and a certificate. The Top Achiever Female and Male achievers received a cheque of R5 000 each. The four (SDS+Sports) Top Achievers contended for the Overall Achiever Award to receive R10 000. These prizes were sponsored by the Office of the DVC – SDS towards each students’ fee account.
