During the week of August 26-30, 2024, the Office for Students with Disabilities (OSwD) fostered an inclusive atmosphere on campus by promoting and selling stickers in support of Casual Day 2024. This annual fundraising event, which aids persons with disabilities across South Africa, is proudly supported by OSwD and the broader University of the Western Cape (UWC) community.

This year, the fundraising efforts and sticker sales are driven by the dedicated student assistants and volunteers from OSwD and the Centre for Student Support Services (CSSS). Casual Day 2024 marks the 30th anniversary of this important awareness campaign, celebrated under the theme, "I SEE YOU." Annually, the campaign is backed by approximately 800 companies, 200 schools, and over 600 NGOs and special needs schools. UWC is honoured to be a partner in this initiative, reaffirming our ongoing commitment to supporting persons with disabilities.

Casual Day will be observed on Friday, September 6th. Stickers are available for purchase at the Office for Students with Disabilities, located in the former CHS Faculty building next to B-Block on the UWC main campus.
