Dozens of smiles and elaborate hats poured into the School of Public Health to celebrate the women of UWC.

Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Academic, Professor Vivienne Lawack, hosted the annual Mad Hatters high tea to coincide with Women’s Day. Guests were encouraged to don a hat, and most obliged - decked out in their flamboyant best.

Acclaimed writer, poet and motivational speaker, Sindiwe Magona, was the keynote speaker. 

Magona encouraged women to support other women in their endeavours.

“Let us learn and stop finding fault [with other women],” Magona said. 

“Realise that you are enough.”
