The Nature Reserve Unit Biodiversity Survey took place in October 2025.

We were thrilled to welcome 108 participants from a wide variety of schools, clubs, and local communities to our annual survey which extended from 13 -18 October. First time visitors and the regulars shared the excitement of this biodiversity
treasure hunt, photographing anything that flowered or moved, big or small, over the six-day event.

The results are in, and once again did not disappoint. We received 1,425 camera downloads from 10 observers. On iNaturalist, we received 207 uploads from 12 observers, documenting over 115 species.

This data is vital for updating our records and protecting the
endangered Cape Flats Dune Strandveld and critically endangered Cape Flats Sand Fynbos.

You continue to amaze us with what you find and you have done it again!
