Eighteen post graduate students from the Statistics and Population Studies Department took part in the SAS Bootcamp training from the 10th February till the 14th February 2014. The SAS Bootcamp training session has become an annual training session for post-graduate students and is provided free of charge by SAS as part of their worldwide university partnership initiative.
All students who attended the training session completed the SAS Programming 1 (Version 9.3) and Enterprise Guide (Version 4.3) level training not only equipped with skills that are a necessity for their studies but it will also be advantage for them going forward in their future careers.
The SPS departments warmly thank SAS, Mr De Villiers and Mr Breda for making this training possible.
SAS Training at UWC
Five staff members and 7 Statistics Honours students were trained by SAS during the first week of September. All participants completed the SAS Programming 1 (based on version 9.3) and Enterprise Guide (based on version 4.3). For staff it was important to learn the new features of the SAS program and for Honours students the training was essential for their studies and for opening doors to future employment.
SAS provided the training free of charge as part of their new worldwide university partnership initiative. Without this initiative, we would not have been able to afford the training. Thanks to Phillip Breda from SAS for providing the excellent workshops.
