UWC Faculty of Law alumni joins Engen

Eastern Cape born UWC Alumni/PhD candidate in Private law department signs with Engen Petroleum Limited (Oil and Energy company) as Company secretary coordinator within Corporate, CoSec, Legal and Security Division. 

Sisonke completed her LLB at the University of the Western Cape in 2018. She was awarded the Ivan Rugema Scholarship to complete her Masters in the School of Law, University of Missouri – Columbia United States. In 2019, she completed her Masters in Dispute Resolution at the University of Missouri, majoring in Negotiation, Dispute systems design, arbitration and worker’s compensation law.

When Sisonke returned from America in June 2019, drawing strength from her village upbringing enrolled for PhD at UWC, her topic focuses on Customary Dispute Resolution in the modern day. 

Sisonke contributed to the UWC community as a mentor, student leader and worked as student assistant for both the Law Faculty office and Law Clinic during her undergraduate career. 

She also worked at Brimstone Investment Corporation as the Assistant to the Company Secretary. She values the experience as it taught her more about the integration of Laws within corporate spaces.

While she was in Columbia- Missouri, she worked as a Graduate Research assistant in the School of Law, working in an international Arbitration project.
